Position description

Purpose of the Project manager

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful project management and execution of engineering based projects within the bounds of quality, schedule and budgetary constraints. The Project Manager will provide regular project status information, project manage a multi-skilled team through the project life cycle, co-ordinate and drive across all the functional areas within the organisation to ensure the successful on time delivery of all project milestones. The role involves all facets of project management with direct liaison to customers and third party organisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and managing of project resource budgets and monitoring of project cash flow
• Development and maintenance of project management plans and schedules
• Issue and risk management
• Stakeholder liaison and customer relations management providing a central point of contact
• Procurement planning and requisition management
• Project Team leadership
• Project configuration and quality control
• Project monitoring and reporting
• To work with the management team colleagues to continuously improve project management processes in accordance with group policy

Competencies • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills • Results oriented with a drive to succeed and achieve targets • Sound judgement and decision making ability • Creative problem solver • Demonstrates maturity and confidence by sharing successes and challenges with colleagues • Diligence, reliability and professionalism Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications • Degree or HND qualified in an Engineering or Technical discipline • ·Formal accredited qualification in project management • Qualification and experience of people management • Skill in preparing technical reports and presentations for customers and suppliers • Sound literacy and numeracy skills • Effective communication, written, verbal and presentational • Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage delivery of projects • Skill in preparing technical reports and presentations for customers and suppliers • Computer literate; Microsoft Office and Project are essential • Ability to work as part of a team or independently • Excellent personal and team organisational skills with the ability to work with people at all levels Experience • Proven background in Project Management • Experience of managing multiple high value projects • Experience of supervising, influencing and performance managing team members to meet deadlines • Experience of engaging with customers in a pressured environment General • The job holder will have a current driving licence • Ability to be flexible and work outside core hours on occasion • Overseas travel may be required occasionally • Ability to work in the UK with no restrictions • Must meet security vetting criteria • Participate in the performance review process, identifying development areas and strengths and undertaking continuous professional development. • Participate in continuous improvement activities within the company If you can demonstrate the skills and attributes to us in this role then Please send a copy of your CV to
